Scott "Old Navy" Hults
Welcome to BodyBuildingSenior.com |
Who am I?
My name is Scott "Old Navy" Hults. I am a retired US Navy Captain. I got the nickname, "Old Navy" from my fellow gym rats while I was preparing to enter my first bodybuilding contest in 2004, at the age of 61. My training was intense. They would say, "Hey, Old Navy, slow down man, take it easy, you aren't so young anymore." I liked the nickname, "Old Navy," so I kept it.
A Little History
Since March, 2005, I have competed in more than 30 tested and non-tested bodybuilding competitions, winning 50 weight, height, age class and Best Poser (6) trophies, including the 2006 FAME WNSO Men's Grand Masters World Championship in Toronto, a Masters Pro Card at the 2006 NGA National Bodybuilding & Figure Championships in Georgia, a second Masters Pro Card at the 2006 International Drug Free Athletics (IDFA) Canadian Classic II in Toronto, and in June, 2007 at age 64, a third Masters Pro Card from the FAME World Natural Sports Organization (WNSO) in Canada. I am the full-time Fitness Director at a very large branch of the YMCA in Birmingham where I manage the personal training staff at the facility, and in addition to training YMCA clients, I also train off site and through Distance Training, bodybuilders and figure competitors as they prepare for their own contests. Off season, I plan to train to gain some more lean mass during 2013-14 and then prepare for my final contest next year, when I reach the ripe old age of 71. Let the Fun Continue.
My Mission
This site is dedicated to all "Old Navy" men and women who think age is a statistic, not a burden. Here I share my experiences, and those of others who don't use the excuse of age to keep them from getting into and maintaining the best shape of their lives. This site includes articles about diet, training, supplements, clothing, equipment, contest preparation and injury prevention. I hope you find the information interesting and helpful.
One more thing. This site is also dedicated to the Glory of God. Our bodies are a gift from Him. What we do with this gift is up to us. Welcome Aboard!
